Real Time Gov ("RTG") is operated by Real Time Gov LLC, a California company based in Sacramento. The RTG software is the intellectual property of Cirkadia Inc., licensed to Real Time Gov LLC for operation of the Service. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over your data.
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and organization. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment information is handled by our payment processor — we don't see or store your full card number.
The bills you track, positions you take, tags you create, notes you write, votecards you build, and other content you create inside RTG. This is your data — see Your data ownership below.
How you use the product: pages visited, features used, time spent, browser and device type, IP address. We collect this through Google Analytics and our own server logs to understand which features matter and where the product can improve.
Pulse is our mobile-optimized companion website, accessed through any modern mobile browser — not a native app. With your explicit permission, Pulse may access location for features like the Capitol Directory. You can revoke browser permissions at any time in your device settings.
We do not use your private workspace data to train AI models. RTG's AI features (bill summaries, committee analysis) operate on public legislative data — the bill text itself, public hearing records — not your private notes, positions, or coalition data.
We share data only with the service providers we need to run the business:
We do not sell your personal data. If we ever need to disclose data for a legal reason (subpoena, court order), we'll push back where appropriate and notify you unless legally prohibited.
Some RTG features — coalition whip counts — intentionally share data between specific customer accounts. This sharing is:
The shared scorecard or whip count is owned by the Customer who created it. Each participating Customer retains independent ownership of its own contributed positions and notes.
California residents have specific rights regarding personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, email support@realtimegov.com. We'll respond within 45 days.
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES at rest), tight access controls, and regular security review. No system is perfectly secure — if a breach affects you, we'll notify you promptly and in accordance with applicable law.
We use cookies for:
We do not use cookies for advertising or retargeting. You can block cookies in your browser, though some features may not work correctly without them.
Real Time Gov is built for professional legislative work and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
While your account is active, we retain your data as long as it's needed to provide the service. If you cancel:
Some data may persist longer in backups or as required by law (e.g., billing records).
We'll update this page when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent change. For material changes, we'll also notify account holders by email.
