The floor.

RTG tracked 4,004 floor ballots in the Assembly and Senate. California's rules let a member add a vote, or change one, after the result is announced, as long as the outcome does not change. Over the session members added 42,278 votes after results were announced and made 547 recorded vote changes.

The outcome never changes. The record does.

How we count.

Every figure comes from the official record the Legislature publishes, read into Real Time Gov as it happens. Bills are counted once each, however many times they were voted on. "Bills introduced" counts Assembly Bills and Senate Bills only. Floor figures run from the session's start in December 2024 through September 4, 2026, the week floor session ended. The veto rate is vetoes divided by bills signed plus bills vetoed in the same period.

We take no position on any bill or outcome. These figures are free to use with credit to Real Time Gov.
